The technical college system is led by a two-member staff in the Board of Technical Education System Office.
Nick Wendell
Executive Director
Nick Wendell has served as the executive director since the board’s inception in the fall of 2017. A native of Gregory, Nick holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism and a master's degree in Higher Education Administration from South Dakota State University.
Scott DesLauriers
Deputy Director
Scott DesLauriers joined the System as deputy director in July 2018. Prior to, DesLauriers was a high school speech and debate teacher, worked in P-20 education organizations, and professional labor associations on the local, state, and national levels. A graduate of South Dakota State University, DesLauriers earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education and master's degrees in educational administration as well as counseling and human resource development.
